Do IonField Products come with a standard warranty?

PurePLATE MCS and accessories sold by IonField Systems are under warranty against manufacturing defects in parts for twelve (12) months.  The warranty period begins at day of installation or fourteen (14) days post delivery if installation is delayed.  PureTIP LHC’s warranty period is six (6) months.

Pipette Tip Cleaning FAQs

How long will the tips last using PureTIP LHC?

Most of our current users set their liquid handlers up to use a new rack of tips every 10 cycles. A lab at Merck presented a paper showing use of pipette tips at 40 cycles when working with siRNA. It is worth noting that conductive tips normally last for only 5 to 6 uses – still an impressive 80% savings.

Will the PureTIP LHC work any Liquid Handler?

IonField Systems has installed and tested on most liquid handler platforms. While there are real differences between products and each has some unique features, if you look just at the tips, they all really do the same thing – pick up and dispense a fluid. To see TipChargers installed on many platforms go to our Installation page.

How long can dirty tips sit before cleaning?

Tips should be rinsed before being re-racked. If rinsed on deck, you should plan on a few hours.

What criteria do you use to say a tip can go through up to X cycles?

Pipetting accuracy and precision changes would be due to physical changes to the tip from the plasma cleaning process. Testing the build-up of contaminants we consider a standard test.

Microplate Cleaning FAQs

What microplates work with the PurePLATE MCS?

MCS works with all commonly used screening and optical microplates.

How does service and maintenance work with the PurePLATE MCS?

The MCS has a few serviceable parts, however, we recommend purchasing a Service Package to support installation, servicing, and maintenance. The MCS is designed for parts to be rapidly replaced to maximize uptime. All service must be provided by persons qualified and authorized by IonField Systems or under the guidance of IonField Systems.

Plasma Cleaning FAQs

What by-products are created with the plasma cleaning process?

Dielectric barrier discharge technology produces ozone and as well as high energy nitrogen compounds. There are OSHA and EU standards for ozone exposure based on the concentration and length of exposure. There is no standard for nitrogen compounds. The waste gas from the TipCharger should be exhausted from the lab..

How does plasma waste get vented?

The waste gas should be exhausted from the lab. The best options are a fume hood, an elephant trunk, or a vacuum line.
